In 2018, Launch Speech and Reading held its first Books Without Borders which was destined to become an annual event. Now we are gearing up to hold our 4th BWB program and can't wait to see what our young authors create. Every participant will work one-on-one with a literacy coach to plan, draft, write and PUBLISH a book of their own imagining. The program will culminate in the Author Showcase and book signing held at Barnes and Noble West (health restrictions allowing.) Join this unique and popular summer program today!
All ages of struggling readers and writers are welcome. BWB is a great group to do virtually, so students from any city or state are encouraged to sign up.
Students will learn the full process of writing including planning, drafting, proofreading, and publishing. They will explore their genre of choice, whether it be fantasy & fiction, DIY & poetry, biography & memoire, adventure & mystery. Our writing coaches will ensure that no matter their skill level, participants gain a remarkable sense of accomplishment and pride.
The Author Showcase celebrates our newly published writers. This special live event is typically held at Barnes and Noble West and last year it was held virtually on Zoom. No matter the venue, the Showcase includes readings, book signings, community spotlights, and more! Authors will receive a paperback copy of their book at no cost.
Students meet with their writing coach for eight one-hour sessions during the summer. Home writing is essential too! Sessions can be done in person or online.
In-person sessions will be held at the Launch clinic on Big Sky Drive. Sessions can also take place online for easy scheduling and no travel.
$495 per student. Pricing includes 8 sessions, showcase participation, and one copy of the published book.
